Scott Reckard January 6 2009Say goodbye to IndyMac. The investors buying failed IndyMac Federal Bank from regulators intend to rename the Pasadena savings and loan although they haven’t yet picked a new name a spokesman said Monday.

Ireland seeks to raise 3 bln euros in bond

The NTMA said last week it may need to raise 20 billioneuros this year to cover the government’s 2009 borrowingrequirements together with a maturing bond up from 18. 4 billioneuros projected in ctober. The NTMA the asset and liability management arm of theIrish government plans to raise the funds through a series ofbond auctions and syndicated bonds. Whelan said the NTMA was likely to hold bond auctions in thecoming months and planned a further syndicated benchmark bond ofaround 3 billion euros later this year depending on conditions. “We would not really have a timing for that yet” he said. Whelan said the maturity would be subject to the marketadding that there was currently good appetite for 5-year issues. “If it was somewhere else like 10-year (maturities) thenobviously we would avail of that as well” he said.
